Montaigne et l'art du prologue au XVIe siecle

This work explores the art and the rich modalities of the prologue. The author endeavors to show that this genre, which is quite conventional because of its function as a medium, has culminated in some achievements of admirable originality, from Rabelais to Montaigne, where the margin becomes the site of an inventive gap.
