The German videotex, called Bildschirmtext, is a widely forgotten technology developed by the German Federal Post. In the late 1990s, it had been fully replaced by the World Wide Web. Nevertheless, Btx had some innovative applications, such as online banking and mail-ordering. These features as well as the general development are being investigated in this book.
