La Philosophie naturelle: Inertie, causalite, petits tourbillons

This paper will address Malebranche's natural philosophy and its impact. I will show that elements of Malebranche's philosophy-its principles, laws, and explanatory methods-can be found in texts from the eighteenth century, demonstrating that the philosopher was at the origins of one of the strands of mechanical philosophy of this period.
