Heidegger claimed there was a fundamental opposition between thought, drawn from our Hellenistic heritage, and faith, the product of our Biblical heritage. Marlene Zarader demonstrates that things are not so simple, that in his attempt to exceed metaphysics, Heidegger made statements analogous to elements within Hebrew tradition. Zarader argues that we cannot erase the double origins of the West.
