Introducción a la metafísica

Este texto publicado en 1953 y completamente reelaborado, presenta el curso que bajo el mismo título fue dictado en el semestre de verano de 1935 en la Universidad de Friburgo de Brisgovia. Es una exploración ontológica, conceptual, etimológica e histórica de la metafísica como disciplina central del pensamiento occidental. Heidegger formula en este libro una pregunta recurrente, fundamental, con la que resume las preocupaciones de más de dos milenios de filosofía: «¿Por qué es el ente y no más bien la nada?». Puesto que para él la forma de preguntar define nuestra naturaleza, esa pregunta se constituye como el planteamiento metafísico decisivo, el centro determinante y el núcleo de toda filosofía. La interrogación por la naturaleza última del ser, su relación con la nada y con el ente, el sentido mismo de la pregunta por el ser tal como es, son los temas principales de esta obra. Para el filósofo, la historia de la metafísica también es nuestra propia historia, es nuestro destino, en la medida en que solo nuestro preguntar por el ser puede abrir ese espacio en el que el ser puede surgir y mostrarse.

This completely revised text, published in 1953, presents the course of the same name taught during the summer semester of 1935 at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau. It is an ontological, conceptual, etymological, and historical exploration of metaphysics as a central discipline of Western thought. In this book, Heidegger formulates a recurring, fundamental question, summarizing the concerns of more than two millennia of philosophy: "Why is there being and not rather nothingness?" Since for him the way we question defines our nature, this question constitutes the decisive metaphysical question, the determining center and core of all philosophy. The interrogation of the ultimate nature of being, its relationship to nothingness and to being, the very meaning of the question of being as it is, are the main themes of this work. For the philosopher, the history of metaphysics is also our own history, it is our destiny, to the extent that only our questioning of being can open up that space in which being can emerge and reveal itself.
