En 2008 los medios de comunicación abrieron sus portadas con la imagen de una mujer embarazada, Carme Chacón, pasando revista a las tropas en el Día de las Fuerzas Armadas. Los mismos que, un año antes, habían destacado su condición de primera mujer de la historia de España nombrada ministra de Defensa. Parecía ignorarse que, a lo largo de los siglos, habían sido muchas las mujeres implicadas en el ámbito de la milicia. Unas mujeres que, en siglos anteriores, se habían saltado la norma que las limitaba al ámbito doméstico para involucrarse en acciones militares unas por puro instinto a fin de defender a los suyos, otras obedeciendo a una secreta vocación militar que las obligó a recurrir a las más diversas artimañas, la más frecuente la de disfrazarse de hombre. Guerreras se propone reivindicar esos nombres, en su mayoría olvidados por el gran público o limitados al ámbito de la leyenda.

In 2008 the media opened their front pages with the image of a pregnant woman, Carme Chacón reviewing the troops on Armed Forces Day. The same media that, a year earlier, had highlighted her status as the first woman in the history of Spain to be appointed Minister of Defense. It seemed to be ignored that, throughout the centuries, there had been many women involved in the military. Women who, in previous centuries, had broken the rule that limited them to the domestic sphere to get involved in military actions, some out of pure instinct in order to defend their families, others obeying a secret military vocation that forced them to resort to the most diverse ruses, the most frequent being to disguise themselves as men. Guerreras aims to vindicate these names, most of them forgotten by the general public or limited to the realm of legend.
