J'avais annoncé la publication de ce second volume pour le courant de l'année 1923. Il paraît avec quelques mois de retard. J'ai remanié tout un chapitre, le dioezeme, où j'ai cru découvrir, sur le manuscrit primitif, des lacunes; je me suis, en outre, astreint 'à reprendre, pour les vérifier, après un intervalle de dia: ans, toutes mes références. Ce travail a eeigé plus de temps que je ne le pensais, mais il n'a pas été inutile, car il m'a permis de relever un certain nombre d'erreurs.
